YG Lifting Solutions Provides Telehandler Gold Card Training for Sydney Water STP Sites
January 22nd, 2012For Immediate Release:
Narellan, NSW (January 20, 2012) – YG Lifting Solutions Pty Ltd is proud to announce that they recently completed the Telehandler Gold Card Training program at all Sydney Water STP sites around New South Wales. As Australia’s largest water utility, Sydney Water is committed to ongoing training efforts to increase employee and job site safety. YG Lifting Solutions was pleased to partner with Sydney Water to administer essential instruction and assessment in the safe and effective operation of telescopic handlers.
The telehandler training course was administered to both new and existing operators at the Sydney Water STP sites. Prior to completing the Telehandler Gold Card Training program, many of the operators had not previously operated telescopic handlers. The experienced and accredited training teams from YG Lifting Solutions Pty Ltd provide onsite training at STP sites from the mountains to the coast. Upon conclusion of the telehandler training program, Sydney Water’s operators had demonstrated that they have the skills required to carry out materials handling tasks with competence. Workplace safety being a top priority for Sydney Water, the training was also designed to inform telehandler operators about the potential risks in their working environment to improve safety for all concerned. The partnership between Sydney Water and YG Lifting Solutions Pty Ltd was considered a successful experience all around.
The Telescopic Gold Card Training program was designed by YG Lifting Solutions Pty Ltd in conjunction with the EWPAA (Elevated work Platform Association of Australia). The program consists of two sections. The first is instruction in the theory of safe operation of telescopic handlers, followed by an assessment. The second section of the Telehandler Gold Card Training program is a demonstration of the operation of telescopic handlers, followed by a practical assessment to ensure that the operator is skilled in the safe use of the equipment. Upon successful completion of the telehandler training course under the instruction of an accredited trainer, the operator is issued a telescopic handler Gold Card. The Gold Card certifies that the operator has demonstrated competence in the safe use of the telehandler, and it also ensures that the employer and user all have documentary evidence that the required “duty of care” has been met or exceeded under the OH & S Acts.
Managing Directors of YG Lifting Solutions Pty Ltd, Paul Gray and Andrew Young are accredited “Train the Trainers” for the Telehandler Gold Card program with the EWPAA nationwide. YG Lifting Solutions offers the telehandler training course in any region of Australia, no matter how remote it may be. Appropriate for both beginners and experienced operators, group programs are regularly scheduled in different cities across Australia. The course can also be delivered onsite and customized for a company’s specific telescopic handlers. Specialised training can be designed for any industry which requires the use of telehandlers, including mining, construction, recycling, poultry, and transport.
